Kebony is a sustainable alternative to hardwoods from tropical regions. The products resemble teak and other tropical varieties of wood. It is dark, and acquires a silver grey patina over time if left untreated. One of the notable benefits of Kebonization is the resistance to weather and wear. Other notable benefits are exceptionally good decay resistance and long life span. This durability is achieved without the drawbacks associated with traditional impregnation methods

Exterpark has expanded the Kebony range by using it to create a unique and patented product. With the invisible stainless fixing system, Kebony can now be fitted without screwing through the surface of the board; instead Kebony is now used as decking that resembles an interior floor but for outside.
The Kebony process enhances the stability and durability of the wood by increasing its dimensional stability and improving its fungal resistance.
Durability
Kebony Decking is a maintenance free material with at least 30 years durability. Lifetime of Kebony Pine is equal or longer than CCA pressure impregnated wood material, now regulated in many countries. Kebony Pine’s durability against rot decay conforms to Durability Class 1-2, which is the most durable category of the European norm EN 350. This Durability Class ensures that Kebony Decking has a long life span. Because of its hardness Kebony Decking will also be more robust against wear than most other wood types.
Sustainability
Kebony Decking is environmentally friendly using sustainably managed wood in the production. All our suppliers hold certificates guaranteeing the origin of their timber. Kebony Decking is either FSC® or PEFC™ certified.
Optional surface treatment
Paint or stain is not needed for protection, only use it if you want to change the aesthetics, and color the wood. Without treatment, Kebony Decking will develop an exclusive silvery grey patina. Kebony Decking will keep its original brown color if treated with a suitable stain. With staining or oiling, a longer curing time than specified by the paint manufacturer should be expected. Cutting edges of Kebony Pine should be treated with a suitable primer, this is not necessary on decking of Kebony SYP and Kebony Maple.
